2010 ADOMA Conference

I would like to thank the Conference Committees for all their hard work in putting on the 2010 ADOMA Annual Conference at the Hilton San Diego/Del Mar. It was ANOTHER successful event! Which I can summarize as follows:
We started Thursday evening with a relaxing welcome reception with hosted bar by Steve Pedraza of Total Service Program Insurance so our members, vendors & guests could unwind and get to know each other better before we delved into the intensive educational weekend. This was a great opportunity for everyone to enjoy a personal setting before the general sessions and vendor faire the next day.
On Friday & Saturday we had extensive education session training:
- John Boggs, Partner, Fine, Boggs, Perkins LLP on Employment Issues. John reminded us of what we need to do as related to our employees. His power point presentation is available to ADOMA members. If you didn’t attend conference, send a request to jane@lexusriverside.com for a copy of his presentation.
- Chris McIntyre, CPA, Kobayashi & Company on “Excel for the Business Manager”. Chris provided us with 22 excel files filled with “how-to’s” such as shortcuts, tricks, text functions. If you would like a copy of the files send a request to

On Friday, between our general sessions, we had many dealer-focused vendors represented at the Annual Vendor Faire. They bring us new & exciting products & services each year that assist the business office and dealership in general. We were excited to see vendors who have supported us for many years as well as several new vendors this year including a gourmet coffee service! For a complete list of the vendors who supported the conference see the end of this article. Thank you again to Steve Pedraza, Total Service Program for coordinating another excellent Vendor Faire.
Our Friday night dinner and event was enjoyed by all. Our Social and Cocktail hour was sponsored by Reynolds & Reynolds and their attendees Dennis Keiser and Matt Vitantonio. Dinner was a fabulous filet mignon or halibut plate followed by our entertainment for the evening - Casino Night brought to us by Casino Magic and sponsored by Anne Kelly of Kelly & Kelly Insurance. The table dealers were great and taught all who played the rules and payouts. It is so much nicer to gamble with someone else’s money! We gave wonderful prizes away using table winnings converted into raffle tickets with our Grand Prize sponsored by Tustin Ranch Golf Course (our thanks to Mary Johansen for her deligence in acquiring donations for the conference),
Saturday, we wrapped up with a lunch featuring a motivation presentation by Kathi Kruse of Kruse Control. We continued with wonderful thank you’s and recognition of the Executive Board volunteers then ended with prize giveaways for all attendees based on donations from our association supporters listed in our Conference Itinerary and Agenda booklet. Again, thank you to all of our supporters.
The weather was perfect. The resort was wonderful with great food & excellent staff. Many attendees were able to visit the County Fair across the street during the limited free time or just sit by the pool.

As President of ADOMA Executive Board and our Association, I wish again to thank all of our Board Members, Chapter Officers, Members, Dealers, Vendors and all of our guests for making this another successful Conference.
